Read Revelation 19:1 through 22:21
Many attending the wedding had watched Christy and Ben become friends and fall in love. Now the young couple would declare the vows that would bind them together for life.
Christy had eagerly anticipated this day for months. The gown, the cake and flowers, the invitations, and scores of other details had consumed much of her time and energy. Now at last, everything was prepared. She was ready. Along with the excitement of this happy celebration, she felt the deeper joy of sharing life with her dearest friend.
There is another wedding for which the believer must prepare. The revelation of Jesus Christ to John included sounds like rushing water and peals of thunder, saying,
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7).
On that day, only those who are dressed in Christ’s own righteousness will be invited to share His life eternally. Is the Bride ready?
