Read 1 Corinthians 10:1 through 13:13
Prophecy. Healing. Miracles. How often do Christians focus on these things? Authentic spiritual gifts are life-giving and powerful. Christians should hunger for them. But spiritual gifts like prophecy and healing are to be motivated by compassion.
Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way (1 Corinthians 12:31).
After Jesus returns, spiritual gifts will cease, but love will endure. Love is the culmination of Christ’s character. First John 4:8 says that God is love. Christians who reflect God’s love towards others mature in their faith.
It is proper to eagerly desire spiritual gifts, but Christians must place loving God and others as their highest priority.
Prayer Suggestion:
Father, You are love. Help me love You more, and help me love others as You do.
