Read Nahum 1:1 through 3:19
On a Sunday evening in 2003, a deadly F-3 tornado barreled down on the small town of Battlefield, Missouri. The local Assembly of God church had just concluded services when the alarm was raised. Members of the congregation, along with dozens of residents from the neighborhood, took refuge in the basement. As they huddled together and prayed, the electrical power failed. When one congregant peered out the basement door and saw the vortex heading toward the building, she cried out Jesus’ name. Suddenly, the clouds parted, and the storm’s path shifted. The church and everyone inside were spared.
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him (Nahum 1:7).
When trouble comes, Christians can always find help and refuge in God. Whether it’s a major crisis or a comparatively small matter, the Lord wants to be involved. Believers can call on Him in every situation, knowing He is good and longs to help them.
Thought for Today:
 No storm is too big for Jesus to calm, and no difficulty is too small to capture His attention.
