Overcoming the Fear Factor

Read Isaiah 28:1 through 35:10

According to the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, more than 19 million adults in the U.S. suffer from some form of anxiety. Specifically diagnosed disorders range from a general, undefined sense of uneasiness to outright panic attacks which leave victims debilitated and unable to function. The organization says that anxiety disorders are highly treatable using appropriate therapy, medication, or both—yet less than one-third of those afflicted with anxiety disorders seek treatment.

Living in today’s world leaves many believers with anxiety disorders, or at least many symptoms of fear and anxiety. The prophet Isaiah, however, brought comfort and assurance to all of God’s people who suffer anxiety and fear, assurance anchored in the presence and power of God:

Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come…” (Isaiah 35:4).

Be confident today in the presence of God. He will bring comfort and encouragement. He will always help His people find answers to all their needs and the pathway to release from fear.

Thought for Today:

As you live close to the Lord, His Holy Spirit will give you assurance and bring peace to your heart in every situation.
