Fresh Water for Life

Read Ezekiel 47:1 through 48:35; 1 Peter 1:1–25

Water plays a vital role in the life of the earth. God’s unique combination of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen meets many of mankind’s basic needs. The average adult human body is about 58 percent water. Without water, both plant and animal life suffer.

Ezekiel foresaw a time when life-giving water would flow from the temple.

“Where the river flows everything will live. . . . Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food” (Ezekiel 47:9, 12).

Believers can deliver “fresh water” to the parched lives they touch. People are thirsty to hear truth, and they wither spiritually when they don’t get it. God’s people can help refresh thirsty souls by sharing the good news about Jesus and telling others about what God has done.

Prayer Suggestion:

God, please help me to share the spiritual refreshment You provide with others.
