Pass/Fail

Fail/Pass

Read Job 21:1 through 24:25

“This is too hard,” complained Jason as he slammed his schoolbooks closed. “I hate studying for tests. I’ll be so glad when I graduate and there are no more tests.”

Have you discovered that learning and testing did not end with your diploma or degree? God teaches us lessons every day. We may think we understand, but then the testing comes.

But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside. I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread (Job 23:10–12).

Severe losses and accusing friends tested Job. He passed his tests by remaining faithful to God and following His commands in difficult circumstances. We all face difficult circumstances every day. It could be a carelessly spoken word, a false accusation, an outright lie, or an unexpected disaster. Are you passing your tests or failing?

Prayer Suggestion:
Lord, help me to respond in a manner pleasing to You in every situation I encounter today.
